Coordinator's Comments

It's been a good few months for LCV, not least because the unusually mild autumn has led to a run of really fine days out. We've been along to two volunteer fairs, one run by the Edinburgh Volunteer Centre and one by Edinburgh University, which have generated an encouraging number of new volunteers, so well done to those who helped out.

Despite last-minute changes in dates, we have ensured that all of our frequent minibus drivers have up to date MiDAS certification, and Matt McCabe is in the process of getting his provisional minibus licence before starting the training proper.

The ceilidh was a very enjoyable night for all those who were there, though regrettably around fifteen more people were needed for us to break even. An enormous amount of work goes into the ceilidh and it is dispiriting not to make money. We very much hope for a healthier turnout next year.

On a wholly positive note, LCV's latest pub quiz outing was close to victorious with the team finishing only two points off the lead and more than pleased with themselves.

And finally, this year sees the return of the New Year Resi after a break: fingers crossed that it doesn't snow like last year!
