Coordinator's Comments

2016/06/30

Hello again,

We are now heading into the heart of the summer as another interesting quarter begins for us. Notably, we will soon be revisiting the Taynish area for our annual summer resi pilgrimage. In other news, though we are still looking for more committee members, I would like to welcome Heili and Jackie to the committee, as Fundraiser and Leader/Driver Organiser respectively.

Also this quarter we plan to apply to convert LCV from its existing constitutional form as an Unincorporated Association to a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO).

Accordingly we will be replacing our ageing constitution with a new consitution.

This will have absolutely no impact whatsoever on what you, as members, or as clients, experience from us. However by changing the way we're set up it makes it easier to administer the group and it substantially reduces the personal risk that trustees take on when they join the committee.

In consultation with our members we agreed a constitution for the new SCIO last year (ask if you would like to see a copy) and the decision to submit the application will be discussed, and hopefully agreed, at the Committee meeting on August 9th. All members are welcome to attend, or to submit comments or queries in advance.

If you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask me, or any other member of the LCV Committee.
